Day 2183 (Wednesday) 31st May 2023
We had a busy day today, Huw got up early to clean the pool then he picked me up and we went to the big apartment to start getting it ready for the new guests. I had to finish at 1pm because I had a class with Anastasia at 2pm, Huw and Suzanne carried on.
During my break with Anastasia I looked for Badger and couldn’t find him anywhere – I eventually found him asleep in the bag of clothes for recycling behind the bedroom door.
I have to go to Saint-Jean Cap-Ferrat this afternoon to see young Oceane
This yacht was in the bay this morning
MY Ahpo
The 115.10 m (377.6 ft) superyacht Ahpo was launched by Lürssen at their yard near Rendsburg and delivered later that same year to Canadian-Jamaican billionaire Michael Lee-Chin. Ahpo was built as a replacement for the owners previous yacht, Quattroelle, which he sold in 2014. Ahpo was listed for sale in February 2023. Three months later, in May 2023, it was sold for a rumoured €330 million, in what is "believed to be the biggest brokerage deal in history". Upon its sale, it was renamed Lady Jorgia. Her new owner is Canadian billionaire and former NHL goaltender Patrick Dovigi. Lady Jorgia made its first appearance after its sale at the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix.
Design
Her length is 115.10 m (377.6 ft), beam is 18.21 m (59.7 ft) and she has a draught of 4.30 m (14.1 ft). Both exterior and interior designs are from Nuvolari Lenard. The hull is built out of steel while the superstructure is made out of aluminium with teak laid decks. The yacht is
classed by Lloyd's Register and flagged in the Marshall Islands.

Zero speed stabilisers, gym, elevator, swimming pool, movie theatre, piano, swimming platform, air conditioning, BBQ, beach club, spa room, sauna, hammam, underwater lights, beauty salon. There is also a helicopter landing pad on the bow.

Performance
Power is delivered by twin 4,351hp MTU (20V 4000 M73L) diesel engines. The engines power two propellers, which give the ship to a top speed of 18 knots (33 km/h). At a cruising speed of 12 knots (22 km/h), the maximum range is 8,500 nmi (15,700 km).
AHPO is a striking and bespoke 115-metre superyacht built for a repeat client who previously owned an 86-metre Lürssen. He required a top-notch design and engineering as well as seagoing comfort for his family. For the exterior and interior design, he, once again, trusted the design office Nuvolari–Lenard, who gave AHPO a unique look. The objective was for the yacht to enable a healthy and family-focused life on board with numerous facilities for sports and activities including the extra-large gym on the sky lounge deck and the spacious wellness area on the lower deck.
She was designed to travel to her destinations in utmost comfort and, as with all Lürssens, the yacht is equipped with state-of-the art technology and engineering systems. For instance, the generators are fitted with a heat recovery system to heat the pool water, leading to reduced use of electrical power and lower emissions, while dynamic positioning enables electronic anchoring in sensitive and remote areas, protecting the seabed and allowing for safe mooring regardless of water depth.
French Word of the Day: Hélas
This French word can be found in old novels, and your friend's dramatic recounting of their most recent administrative hurdle.
Why do I need to know hélas?
Because despite being quite old-fashioned, you might hear someone slip this word into the middle of their sentence.
What does it mean?
Hélas – roughly pronounced ay-lass – is an interjection that you are likely to see if you are reading a French novel, or hear, if someone is telling a particularly dramatic story.
Hélas is used in a manner very similar to the English term ‘alas’ - as an interjection in the middle of a sentence or thought, though typically before describing something unfortunate or upsetting. In fact, the English term likely arose from the French one during the Middle Ages.
A French synonym might be malheureusement (unfortunately).
It's common in novels, especially historic ones, while in spoken French, you might hear it more sarcastically, as it is a bit old-fashioned. If your friend is feeling a bit theatrical in their storytelling, then they might pop hélas in for dramatic effect.
Use it like this
J'ai fait le tour à la recherche d'un parking pendant une heure et, hélas, juste au moment où j'ai trouvé ma place, quelqu'un d'autre l'a prise. – I drove around in the parking lot for an hour, and alas, just when I found a spot, someone else took it.
L'écrivain du début du XXe siècle a écrit plus de 20 chefs-d'œuvre, mais hélas, il n'a jamais été reconnu de son vivant. – The early 20th century writer wrote over 20 masterpieces, but alas, he was never recognised in his lifetime.
