Day 1451 (Saturday) 29th May 2021.

The day started off lovely and we planned to spend the afternoon on the beach so we did all our household chores and it was lovely to see all the restaurants were busy lunchtime.

There were a few large yachts in the bay and Huw used his app to the find their names and I looked up the beautiful sailing yacht first and it sounds wonderful.

Born to Sail

A meticulous recreation of the 1910 yacht of the same name, 44m schooner Elana hails from the golden age of sail.

Sail with the grace of bygone eras beneath charter yacht Elena’s towering wooden masts and watch mesmerised as her highly skilled captain and crew manoeuvre her impressive sail plan. A world away from regular sailing yachts for charter, Elena offers classic, stately accommodation reminiscent of a country home, but with all the sophisticated comforts of the 21st century

Elena’s classic style interior has an air of grandeur thanks to the mahogany finish and period detailing whilst retaining a superior level of comfort.

With modern amenities throughout, Elena manages to offer the best of both worlds without compromising on her charmingly styled aesthetic.

Elena accommodates up to eight guests in four ensuite cabins; two doubles and two twins

The master cabin features an office-sized desk and seating for two while the three guest cabins all boast excellent storage space and privately controlled air conditioning systems.

Sweeping deck spaces, ideal for relaxation and entertaining, characterise Elena’s exterior. A delightful alfresco dining area is the perfect spot to enjoy a hearty breakfast before a day of regatta-style sailing.

It is on deck that you will get the best of the yacht, enjoying the journey every but as much as the destination. Discover the true art form of sailing at the hands of her experienced and passionate crew.

Sail in the wake of Columbus and follow the trade winds of the Caribbean as they draw you west on a voyage of discovery. Explore hidden coves and deserted beaches. Sink your feet into sugar-white sand. Find shade in a coconut grove. Discover spicy salsa rhythms and rich ethnic flavours as vibrant as the islands themselves. This is the new world and it’s yours to explore

Exhilarating or relaxing, a yacht charter on Elena is a rare experience in today’s modern world.

The next one we looked at is called Faith and here are the details…

We had lunch and were very disappointed when the clouds arrived, it was still lovely and warm but it wasn’t beach weather so we took Kisbee to Saint Jean Cap Ferrat to find Eduard and Olga’s villa so that I know where it is on Monday.

We found it easily and although we couldn’t see much because of the usual Cap Ferrat metal security gates but what we could see looked gorgeous.

and I thought this name plaque was very romantic although it’s very hard to believe that Eduard is capable of romance.

We stopped in the garden centre on the way home and bought a few small pots of flowers, some soil and a new basil plant. We haven’t planted them yet, we’re going to do that in the morning before meeting Kevin and Angie in the ‘Happy Whale’ for lunch tomorrow.
