Day 661 (Sunday) 31 st March 2019 We had an early start again this morning – Huw wanted to start early but I didn’t but Badger was having none of it! Huw went down to the new place on Kisbee and I cleaned our flat a bit. I had a hairdresser’s appointment at 11am arranged by Dee at home and when Frank arrived Badger was seriously well behaved for the hour and 20 minutes it took to get my hair cut. I did some washing and put the bottom sheet on a sun lounger to dry and he found a cat cave under it to hide and relax, he was an angel.   Frank is a really lovely guy and I hope I will like my hair tomorrow when I wash it and it’s not quite so bouffant. When he finished and we said our fond farewells and I went straight to the bathroom and brushed out the ridiculous curls – it was far too feminine! Halfway through the cut Andy phoned me asking if we wanted a free washing machine. Yves, who runs the restaurant below Andy’s flat, is moving and getting rid of his Electrolux washer/drye

Day 660 (Saturday) 30 th March 2019 Huw got up super early and I tried to have a lie in but there was too much to think about and so I gave in and got up too. Huw took Kisbee to the new flat with some bags and I walked down carrying two paintings. On the way down I saw Iain and Nancy and they had made enquiries about us all joining the boules club and it’s going to be easy. Marie-Claire (Seb’s mother) had a new blouse in her shop and told me that as soon as she saw it she knew it was mine and when I saw it I saw it was true – she is a real temptress and very good at it! When I got to the flat Huw was hard at it and as I was changing into my skivvy clothes I got a call from Dee who was in the area and dropped in for a coffee. She said she loved the place and was very happy for us; it was so lovely to see her positive reaction. I was really pleased with the yellow wall in the kitchen We spent a few hours painting and cleaning and it’s looking so much better already and we keep

Day 659 (Friday) 29 th March 2019 I caught the bus into Nice this morning and noticed this wisteria growing on our street. The two hours with Benny at the cafĂ© flew by as always and then I walked over to International House where I ate my lunch in Parc Mozart in the glorious sunshine. As always Paloma was on time and we had a very interesting lesson comparing American and British English, she finds this fascinating because her sister lives in America and her daughter lives in London. She is giving us a desk and today she gave me the measurements and it’s perfect. She is a tourist guide and a mine of information and she told me that when the president of China visited last week it cost France an absolute fortune. He booked two floors of the five-star Negresco hotel and brought his own bed; the roads were closed between Nice and Monaco for two days and he actually spent just five hours in Nice. He had lunch in the Kerylos villa in Beaulieu and spoke to the prince of Monac
