Day 449 (Thursday)

I had to go to the dentist this morning and was there for just under an hour and it was very unpleasant.
Karine gave me two injections and started drilling, it was fine for a while but when
she moved to a different tooth it hurt quite a lot so she gave me a third injection
but she still managed to make me laugh while her fingers were in my mouth.
As she was showing me to the door she gave me ‘les bisous’ (the cheek kisses) instead of a
handshake, I love this country!
I can’t remember if I’ve taken this photo  before so if I have I apologise but this is the house opposite
the dentist – those windows and shutters are not real, it’s a very clever mural.
When I got home I didn’t feel very well at all, I was in pain and I felt quite sick so I had a lie down for a
bit. Huw went up to the bank to try and sort the insurance out for the scooter but they wouldn’t insure
him because this will be our first insurance in France and it would cost a fortune.
He had hoped to go into Nice to collect the bike but now it was back to the drawing
board. After some searching he managed to get us insured online and he can pick up
our new shiny red scooter tomorrow morning.
I had a lovely email chat with Guillaume and I start back at school next week so I’d better make the
most of the rest of my break. I felt a lot better after about two hours so I sat in the sun reading my
book and I did some deadheading and my little garden is looking lovely.

I also noticed how long our neighbours’ bougainvillea is growing.
There was a small cruise ship in today so I did some research and this kind of cruise is the way to go.
I tried to find how much it would cost to cruise around the Galapagos Islands but you have to complete
a rather formal quote application so I didn’t bother, as I’m sure it would be astronomical.

The ship is called Silver Whisper and this is what I found.

Our world-cruisers preferred ship Silver Whisper sports a relaxing, sophisticated and genuinely elegant atmosphere. A multi-million dollar refit makes her one of the most technically up to the minute ships at sea.
