A Year in Villefranche sur Mer - Moving to France

  Day 2272 (Monday) 28 th August 2023 No nice photos today… I did my Duolingo this morning and got to first position for about 3 minutes, so did Huw. The weather wasn’t great and there was another cruise ship in the bay full of Spanish people. Huw had to go up to Tamsin and Christian’s place to get the scooter because Pat gave us a lift home last night. He took some photos of the stormy skies from up the hill.   Day 2271 (Sunday) 27 th August 2023 Today’s photos This is Bairois which is above Nice and this is Saint-Jean Cap-Ferrat   Happy birthday to me and the weather is awful! There were two cruise ships in the bay and I felt really sorry for the passengers as it was raining so much. We had planned on having a petanque picnic in the boules club but decided against it and Tamsin invited us all to her place to have an indoor picnic instead. Huw went shopping in Beaulieu and got absolutely soaked on the scooter. He had bought me lots of lovely presents yesterday and my main gift was rugby tickets to watch Wales v Portugal in Nice next month – how exciting is that? The rain eased up a bit and we didn’t get too wet going up to Tamsin and Christian’s place but we had to wear shoes and a raincoat.   Day 2270 (Saturday) 26 th August 2023 Today’s photos… This is Villefranche sur Mer – you can just about see our balcony behind the pale green house with pale green shutters. and this is David Niven’s house in Saint-Jean Cap-Ferrat We had yet another check-out/check-in today so Huw, Suzanne and I spent the whole morning getting it ready.  This is the back of the apartment. It was very hot again but the forecast says there’s going to be a big storm tomorrow, which will spoil my petanque picnic plan. Tamsin has offered to have it at their place under an awning, so we’ll just have to wait and see how it is tomorrow. It hasn’t rained since Easter – why tomorrow?
