A Year in Villefranche sur Mer - Moving to France

  Day 1665 (Wednesday) 29 th December 2021 Normality has resumed and the blue sky is back and there is some wonderful heat in the sun.   Huw went up to the apartment early this morning and I joined him a few hours later to get it all done ready for tomorrow’s check-in. I did some chores around our place and enjoyed a cup of coffee in the sunshine. Getting the apartment ready is bloody hard work, we managed to get most of it done but Huw will have to do another hour tomorrow morning. This is their neighbour’s house There were a lot of Italians in town today and the seafront restaurants were very busy, which is so good to see.   Day 1664 (Tuesday) 28 th December 2021 The weather was greatly improved today, thank goodness, but still no perfect blue sky. There were four people on jet-skis this morning – they really should be banned for noise pollution in residential areas – it was really annoying. Huw still wasn’t feeling very well so he went to the pharmacy and bought a Covid test because he has a sore throat, a headache and a bit of a cold. We were very relieved when it was negative.   We were also very relieved yesterday when we found out that after the government announcement yesterday we are still allowed to have our New Year’s Day lunch party so all that organising wasn’t for nothing. The next thing we have to do is the seating arrangements; half of me is  dreading it but a part of me loves the power!   Day 1663 (Monday) 27 th December 2021 I slept through this but Huw was awake to see this extraordinarily beautiful sunrise. The weather wasn’t very good again today and we even got some light rain. Huw had a cold and wasn’t feeling very well so we had another lazy day. Iain called in to drop off a few things he wants us to look after for a few months. Huw went back to bed and I did my new jigsaw which isn’t easy at all.
