A Year in Villefranche sur Mer - Moving to France

  Day 2688 (Thursday) 17 th October 2024  No nice photos today but Huw found this one of in Villeneuve Loubet with a storm warning. We’ve had orange storm warnings and this afternoon it went to red but it didn’t really come to anything other than some heavy rain this afternoon. Huw took me to Beaulieu this morning to meet Florence but when she arrived she told me that couldn’t have a lesson because she has lots of problems in work and she signed away the rest of the lessons. I’ve been working with her family for about six years so it’s hard to imagine not seeing them again. Huw carried on with his painting and decorating and Badger walked across the door he was painting.   When he had finished Badger went to sleep under a plastic sheet in the hallway – I don’t think he realises plastic isn’t good for him.   Day 2687 (Wednesday) 16 th October 2024 This is Place Massena in Nice and this is Villefranche-sur-Mer. I was preparing my lesson this morning and Badger decided to go to sleep on it. It was a really horrible this morning, it rained a lot and I felt sorry for the passengers on this cruise ship but they still kept coming ashore – good for them.  I was quite sad to see the port people removing the pier from where the rental boats go – it’s beginning to look like winter. Huw carried on with his painting and decorating and I did a class with Veronique. By this afternoon it had brightened up considerably and the sun really tried to come out but didn’t quite manage it but at least the passengers saw some of Villefranche’s beauty.
