Day 1910 (Wednesday) 31 st August 2022 We made the news last night. Basque Alex posted a video of a burning car yesterday evening and today this article appeared on Riviera News At Villefranche-sur-mer, police are questioning a man who set fire to a car before attacking customers at a nearby restaurant. It’s not clear what the intentions of the man were but police report he was heavily under the influence of alcohol at the time. It wasn’t quite so hot today and there was little humidity so it was very comfortable. Huw had to work in the big apartment today after a check-out this morning and a check-in tomorrow. These guests have been here for a month and it looked like they hadn’t done any cleaning or laundry – rude pigs! But at least they left behind a bottle of champagne – hooray!  This was Badger last night during a rare moment of affection.   Huw had to go up to the house to clean the pool and the guests had seen the burning car incident last night and had called the police.   Day 1909 (Tuesday) 30 th August 2022 It was quite cloudy this morning and the temperature was quite comfortable even though it was still a bit humid. The forecast said to expect a storm this afternoon but it never appeared and it was hot and sunny again this afternoon. He went to scooter repair shop in Villefranche this morning but it was still closed so now he’ll have to try in Nice again.  He found this article in the Nice Matin…   Nice records an unprecedented number of nights over 20 degrees this summer  - The city of Nice, in the Alpes-Maritimes, has recorded 61 consecutive tropical nights in a row since June 30 th , that is to say with the temperature never dropping below 20 degrees. The previous record was back in 2016 when 58 tropical nights in a row in Nice were recorded. According to Météo-France, the south of France could experience up to 90 tropical nights without interruption. While I was waiting for Anastasia to arrive I did my French lessons on Duolingo and was delighted to be in first place on the Pearl league leader-board. This didn’t last very long and I was soon
