Day 1879 (Sunday) 31 st July 2022 It was pretty hot again today and Huw had to go up the big apartment to do some work and the guest had left him another generous tip. I did my Duolingo and prepared a chicken chasseur for dinner and  then settled down on the balcony with my book. The bay was very busy today with many, many small yachts. Three weeks in France If two weeks in France is good, then 3 weeks in France is even better. It gives you more time to explore this fascinating country that is world famous for its culture, including food, fashion, bygone royalty and historic sites. You can use the extra week to tour the  French Riviera  and make your way back to  Paris  where your memorable holiday started. Since the return route is different, you’ll be able to experience additional regions of France. 1. Nice (3 nights)  Nice is nice, no doubt about that. Located on the French Riviera known for its glitz and glamour, Nice is a blend of the old and the modern as it sits alongside the

Day 1878 (Saturday) 30 th July 2022 Oh boy it was hot today, we’ve been here for over five years and we’ve never felt the heat like this, this year. I think it’s because the heatwave started so early in June and we’ve been hot for two months already. As I keep saying I will never complain about the heat but it’s not easy.  We had a lot of fun in Le Phare last night and Pat and Dee joined us for the first time in weeks. Pat was wearing the strangest outfit of different patterns and Dee and Ronnie thought it looked great – I didn’t! As promised yesterday here is some information about why the Prom is called the Promenade of the English… Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France The Promenade des Anglais, affectionately known as “the Prom”, is one of the most beautiful seaside boulevards to be found and lucky me, I live right by it.  Our new apartment is about a three minute walk to the sea and this lovely promenade says Margo Lestz an expat in Nice, France… On the wide pedestrian thorough

Day 1877 (Friday) 29 th July 2022 We had planned on going on an adventure today but the forecast for this afternoon wasn’t great and there was a warning of a storm. It was still pretty hot so Huw relaxed in the cooler living room and I read my book on the balcony. It rained for about ten minutes after lunch and then again for ten minutes later in the afternoon, we had a couple of claps of thunder  but no real storm though. Every lunchtime and dinner time the buskers perform for the diners on the seafront. An accordion player plays every single day for about two hours over lunch and three hours plus for dinner. Huw is able to block it out but it drives me up the wall, he just plays three songs over and over again, blending them into one long drone – these are the three songs I did it my way Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps Guantanamera – learn some new songs for god’s sake!  This was Badger last night trying to cool down – look at his tail – it looks like a question mark. On Monday Anastasi

Day 1876 (Thursday) 28 th July 2022 It was super-hot again today and Huw had to go up to the big apartment to do some work and I did a little bit of shopping in town. There was another cruise ship in the bay so town was quite busy. When I came home Badger was asleep in the shower tray… This yacht has been in the bay for a couple of days and left this morning. Huw used his App and found that it is called Motor Yacht Invictus and I Googled it…Invictus represents superyacht living at its very finest. With incredible volume over her six spacious decks, she easily gives the impression of a 75m yacht, offering more space, more light, more luxury and more fun. Expansive deck spaces host a variety of exotic dining options, from breakfast on the sun deck, to lunch by the dip pool and a five-star gourmet dinner for 22 guests at the impressive owner's deck dining table. Charter guests can make the most of the sun deck with its barbecue, jacuzzi and extensive sun loungers offering pure, uni
