Day 1575 (Thursday) 30 th September 2021. What a day – again! It was still dark when my alarm went off but thankfully it was daylight by the time we left the flat. Huw dropped me off at Ipag ready to start at 8.20 and I was in the lecture theatre again. I didn’t actually use the stage and microphone, I just did this for a laugh, I hope I never have to use the stage. I spent two hours with my regular group and we had a 10-minute break before I had to face a group of 26 students. This was really daunting, I had met them all last week but in two much smaller groups and I asked them all to write their names on a post it in the hope of remembering all their names.   Day 1574 (Wednesday) 29 th September 2021. We had another early start this morning but it was beautiful and sunny again, Huw took me to the architect’s office in Saint Jean and there was a bit of a nip in the air riding on Kisbee. Saint Jean is such a pretty little town   While I was waiting for the bus I spotted this lovely flower and my App tells me it’s called a Chinese hibiscus.  When I got home Huw had a call from the guests saying they were leaving so he had to go up to do a check-out. I did all my pay claims for September and had a lovely sandwich for lunch; Huw had bought a poulet roti this morning and a fresh baguette, the chicken was still warm so with a slice of bacon and some mayonnaise it was delicious. Huw came home and took me back to Saint Jean to see young Oceane who practi

Day 1573 (Tuesday) 28 th September 2021. It was a gloriously sunny day today and I had to get up super early to start in Ipag at the ridiculous hour of 8.20, thankfully Huw very graciously dropped me off. Yesterday I had left my adapter in the classroom Roma so I popped in to see if it was still there and thankfully it was. I had to interrupt a teacher, but she was fine, she  turned out to be the Welsh woman that I’d been told about. She asked me if I realised that I had a Welsh surname and what part of me was Welsh – I laughed and said 96%. She was amazed when I told her I was from Llanelli, she is from Caerphilly. We were both about to start work so we didn’t have time to exchange numbers but I can’t wait to meet her properly. There are plenty of English and Irish around and some Scottish but it’s very rare to find Welsh people – they are a bit like Guinness, they don’t travel well. The two hours with the IELTS learners flew by and they are so much better behaved than my regular g
