Day 1483 (Wednesday) 30 th June 2021 It was lovely and warm again this morning and Huw kindly gave me a lift to Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. We were a bit early so Huw showed me how to use the flower naming app called ‘Picture this’ and I thoroughly enjoyed playing with it  This is Texas lantana   This is a Mexican lily These are African lilies This an Indian shot, a species of Canna lilies  and this is Oleander As always I had a very pleasant 90 minutes in the garden behind the architect’s office with Christel and Brice. I bought a cordon bleu baguette sandwich and ate some of it at the bus stop admiring the view    and some more at the bus stop in Beaulieu before working with Odile and her daughter Sarah. I caught the bus back to Villefranche getting off at Leopold II to meet Huw to make the beds for the next guests arriving on Saturday. Huw looked at the AirBnB listing and read through all the reviews it had had since we looked after it. They were all so positive it was great to see ex

Day 1482 (Tuesday) 29 th June 2021 This was Badger joining us for a candlelit dinner last night – he’s after the rose wine As it’s getting hotter in the evening we have stopped sitting in the living room in the evenings as it’s cooler and brighter in the blue room. When we sit in the living room Badger usually sits on his blanket in between us on the sofa but now that we’ve moved he was a bit lost as to where to sit. I brought his blanket in and put it on the floor in between our armchairs and he settled down immediately – he does love us after all.   Huw had some exciting news today – he’s got some real work to do. For the first time in over a year Frank Warren’s team asked him to produce a radio commercial for them. It’s not much work but he will earn a nice few euros for it and he’s happy to use his TV skills again.  I sulked a bit today because I almost had the day off but I had to go to Monaco for just one hour between 5 and 6, which I think is totally unreasonable but at least

Day 1481 (Monday) 28 th June 2021 It was lovely and sunny again today and the guests in the big apartment left early this morning so Huw was going up there to start getting it ready for the new guests arriving on Saturday so he dropped me off at the villa in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. Eduard was on fine form and asked to revise dependent prepositions yet again. We talked about their gorgeous garden and he said that when he got the gardens done it had cost almost as much as the house. I enjoyed a five-minute break sitting on the terrace admiring the garden and I counted the number of chairs on the terrace; there is room to comfortably seat 21 people and it still wouldn’t be overcrowded. There was a bunch of pink balloons over the dining area and Sonia, their daughter told me that they’d had a party over the weekend to celebrate that the newest grandchild was five months old. Olga later told me that it was a good excuse to have a birthday cake. Their chef Pascal made them a pavlova and sh
